Do not I repeat do not take your loved one here this place is horrible. My mother was in there for just a little over a week. She was in there because she was recovering from a surgery and needed to gain her strength back so she could come home, the staff never came when she called. The food was absolutely horrible. Her wound from surgery opened up after a fall, thank God, I got an ambulance and got her out of there or they would’ve killed her within a week.

I am/was a resident of this facility Not a post critical care facility. Not by a long shot!! Food is beyond bad! The bed was an ultra cheap adjustable bed. Beyond uncomfortable! Absolutely no individualized care! I’m a medical professional and this place is absolutely the bottom of the barrel. They have no right to call themselves a “post critical care” facility.
Staff is awful. My mom had open heartsurgery last Tuesday, got transferred her last night. Been left to pee herself twice in less than 24 hrs because nurses will NOT answer the call when she calls for them. I was there over 8 hrs today and not once did I see her nurse come in. She was sent here for rehab and has been left to rot in a bed. No one has helped her shower and apparently that only happens twice a week. I was told by a staff member that the 24/7 residents are treated worse. Im honestly scared for my mom to even be here. Im scared shes gonna try to take herself to the bathroom and shes going to fall or cause damage to her sternal wound. I can’t afford to keep calling out of work because people are refusing to do their job. Directors office had a sign on the door all day that she was busy and I made an unanswered phone call. She was encouraged to used this facility and apparently we made a huge mistake sending our loved one here. I’d give zero stars if it’d let me.

My family and I have tried to give Anchor Rehabilitation in Aiken the benefit of the doubt for several years, but after our most recent experience, I can no longer stay silent. My grandmother has been admitted to Anchor a few times over the past few years, usually after short hospital stays. Each time, we hoped the care would improve — but this last stay was heartbreaking. She was there for about two months and wasn’t eating, yet staff never seemed concerned enough to look deeper or help us understand why. We had to constantly advocate for her, schedule her specialist appointments ourselves, and push to make sure she received the care she needed. The communication between the nursing staff and doctors was extremely poor. Even when important instructions were clearly provided in advance, staff failed to follow through until we intervened. On multiple occasions, we were left scrambling to ensure she received her medication and transportation for critical tests. The final straw was when she began complaining of pain and visible swelling, and staff dismissed our concerns, saying she was “fine.” When we insisted on a hospital evaluation, we discovered she had a serious medical condition that could have been life-threatening. No family should have to fight this hard to get basic, compassionate care for their loved one. Based on our repeated experiences, I do not recommend this facility. Please do your research and ask tough questions before placing someone you love here.

This place is just down right disgusting the room and showers were so dirty I don’t even see how someone could stay at this place🤮. If you have any problems or concerns they just brush them under the rug and don’t even acknowledge them. Their food service here is slow and every time they bring the food out it’s always cold. Overall it’s nasty and they don’t even care about their employees.

The food and food service is terrible. I eat in my room until i can walk better and my food is always cold when they leave it for me. Sometimes I can get my plate reheated and other times they tell me they dont have a microwave. ? Most of the nursing staff is okay, some are excellent and others should not be nurses. Rehab is wonderful and since thats why I’m here, i try to just focus on that. Many, many improvements could be made.

Karen Dandy and Jadzia Priest were the best two CNA’s! They both deserve to be recognized!

My father (96) is in Anchor following surgery. His phone was lost for awhile and I have left messages with the nursing station that never get returned. He had a follow up with his surgeon that was missed even though I double checked prior to the appointment. I have received no information on his progress in rehab or his condition. The staff seems nice but very difficult to contact or have calls returned

4 weeks of h-e- double hockey sticks. Room floor dirty I had to go find a broom to sweep, put a diaper on my mother that could go to bedside pot with assistance but they told her she uses the pot too much. One of the male nurse with curly hair dropped her medicine and brought the same ones back because I helped him picked them up and bent one of the capsules to see if he would bring the same ones back and he did which they all went in the trash. A therapist reported to head nurse that a camera was in the room and I received a message to come remove it but prior to head nurse calling me demanding me to come remove it (which my mother told the therapist she has a camera in her room at HOME) she didn’t investigate and once I got there she claims it’s still be investigated and she’s trying to find out who made the report. They discharged my mom with no pain pills, no yellow folder with information in it that needed to go to in home nurse, nor wheelchair that was suppose to be given on discharged day . They called on Monday to tell me to come pick it up when she was discharged on Friday prior. My mom hit the help button and they took their time coming to assist her. Her roommate did not have help getting out the bed for 3 days. They suppose to get showers twice a week. My mother was there for 4 weeks and only received a shower twice and barely got washed up until I got there in the evenings. Thank you to Alton, the tall bald head male nurse, and the nurse that was on vacation towards the end of week last week (7-15). You three are passionate about your job and they need more people like you!!!!

There are some really helpful CNA’s here. One standout this weekend was Alton. Most of the CNA’s are also in nursing school. The physical and occupational therapists are really friendly and really great help as i get well.

The OTs and PTs were extremely helpful in getting me mobile again. Took their time to show me how to maneuver stairs and issues I faced in rural environment. One CNA in particular (Karen) was wonderful. Medication took FOREVER and was always difficult to obtain in a timely manner. Staff in general barely did their jobs. No inter-facility communication. Food was AWFUL. After I didn’t eat for about a week someone finally informed me I could order a salad. Housekeeping was very efficient and courteous. Would I recommend? No.

Spent 2 1/2 months in this place for rehab after a car wreck. Broke tib/fib, broke my wrist, broke 3 ribs and L5 vertebrae. The CNA’s do not care about you. Your light will be on for hours, they come in ask you what you need, turn your light off and ignore you. I used a bedpan for a while and would be on it for up to 2 hours with a broken spine. Had one CNA bring my lunch tray and at that point I had been on the bedpan for over an hour. I asked her to please take me off. She said okay and left the room to never come back in. The food is so disgusting it’s not fit for dogs and the menu never changes. They don’t know what a diabetic meal is and don’t really care. Had the pleasure of getting a UTI on April 16th took forever for the labs and the antibiotic. They gave me a 4 day antibiotic, which didn’t work. Complained and got another 4 day antibiotic, which didn’t work. Complained again, did another urinalysis and got a 5 day antibiotic. Went home the day I was prescribed the antibiotic, took it, today is day 5 and guess what? I still have the UTI. I did have 2 amazing night CNA’s, Jaylynn and Gail. Always answered my call lights immediately during the night no matter the time. The PT and OT staff are excellent, they’re the only reason I put up with the neglect. Dylan, Heather and Angela were my saving grace!!! Had a conversation with the Director and she was an absolute joke and needs a different career. She avoids the issues you have at all cost and thought she was talking to someone who never worked as a CNA. I highly recommend if you have loved ones in this facility, check on them a lot. They love using diapers and leaving you sitting in soiled ones for hours and hours. Another issue is prescription medication. It either takes forever to get or they lose the doctors order. Had surgery while I was in there and needed pain medication but they all of a sudden couldn’t give me any after my surgery but had them up to the day of my surgery for my other broken bones. I had to beg for someone to do something. It was late at night and one of the night nurses took care of it immediately and she wasn’t the nurse on my hall. They kept loosing my doctors order for a weekly shot or wouldn’t order it and wouldn’t get it for a week at a time. I have to point out 2 amazing nurses, Ana who always made sure my shot was ordered on time and Novia who would answer my call light immediately and do for me what I needed done. No questions asked! You can blame short staffing but accountability for nurses not helping is a BIG issue. Passing medication isn’t their only job, start answering call lights.! 10 out of 10 do NOT recommend this place. Do your research and send your loved ones to a safe place. Also while I was in there a couple of CNA’s wouldn’t bring me a food tray. They would come in to pick up the non existent tray only to realize they never gave me one. Twice for lunch during the week from an older CNA and once they forgot my breakfast, by an “agency” CNA. I got the pleasure of seeing my roommate being neglected to the point I had to get out of bed at midnight, go to the nurses station to tell them they needed to put her to bed. She can’t walk, she doesn’t use the call light and isn’t able to say a lot but that night she was yelling help. Two other nights after that after 11 pm I had to do it again. She is elderly, I’m 58 and this is her home. I was lucky enough to be able to get out and go home. It just broke my heart, she was so sweet to me and loved on my dog when he came to visit me. I’m so glad I got to make her so excited to pet my dog. I’m seriously waiting for someone to sue this place and it would be well deserved. I’m a great witness if you need one. Thank you Angela, Dylan, Ana, Novia, Jaylynn, Gail and Heather, I owe my gratitude to all of you for me being able to go home.

My experience is minor and as a visitor. Was told by therapist to leave Boost for my friend which I did. Disappeared never given to patient, then told she had Covid so I couldn’t bring more. Just for your info several people I know have been there with poor treatment by some nurses. I’d suggest you meet with your nurses and give expectations. When people go there it’s because they can’t take care of themselves. They deserve respect. Yes a lot of what I am saying is from recommendations from friends. Just want you to know so that you might be able to check this out. Talk to your patients after they’ve been there a few days. Just saying.

My mother was there for rehab after a hospital stay. Sure they are understaffed but they took very good care of my mother. Nurse Mireya made sure she got her meds every day and kept her healthy. Pam(cna) made sure she had a bath twice week. And kept her comfortable. Robin in admissions made the process for admitting her so easy. Everything right over the phone so didn’t have to be there before she was admitted. And Brany the social worker made it easy to take her home with everything she needed. So overall a very pleasant experience. Thank you.
